March 15th: Cinderella: Here is the timeless tale of the poor soot-covered girl with a heart of gold who – though taken advantage of by her stepmother and stepsisters – gets a chance to attend the royal ball, where she falls in love with the handsome prince.

March 19th: Jack & the Beanstalk: The timeless story of the brave boy Jack who climbs a magical beanstalk to a world in the clouds where an evil giant dwells. Once there Jack meets a kind-hearted fairy, a talking harp, and a wondrous hen who lays golden eggs.

March 22nd: Pinocchio: Perhaps the most famous marionette story of all time, this classic tale follows the adventures of a wooden marionette who magically comes to life and must learn valuable lessons about right and wrong before he can achieve his goal of becoming a real flesh and blood boy.

April 12th: Sleeping Beauty:  Following the story of Brier Rose, a beautiful young princess, who after incurring the wrath of an evil fairy falls into an enchanted sleep. The only way she can be awakened is by a kiss from a handsome prince. Upon arriving at Brier Rose’s tower chamber, this prince finds his way blocked by an evil dragon. Can the prince defeat the dragon and rescue the sleeping princess?

April 26th: Little Red Riding Hood: Little Red Riding Hood tells the famous tale of a young girl bringing a basket of goodies to her dear grandmother’s cottage in the woods. Along the way she meets a sneaky wolf who convinces her to stray from the forest path, giving the wolf a chance to arrive at the cottage first and put into place his dastardly plan.

Severe Weather Awareness Day

Severe Weather Awareness Day to be held at the Science Spectrum & OMNI Theater
Saturday, March 29th (10:00am to 3:00pm)

The Student Chapter of the American Meteorological Society at Texas Tech University, along with KCBD News Channel 11, the National Weather Service, and the Science Spectrum, will be hosting Lubbock’s annual Severe Weather Awareness Day on Saturday, March 29th, from 10:00am to 3:00pm at the Science Spectrum & OMNI Theater.

Robotics Fair

The Texas Tech Robotics Association would like to invite you to the Texas Tech Robotics Fair at the Science Spectrum and OMNI Theater on Saturday, April 5th, 2025 from 10:00am to 3:00pm.

This FREE event will feature organizations from Texas Tech University and the Lubbock area as they exhibit robots of all kinds for guests visiting the museum.

Students and their families will have the opportunity to engage in robotics activities and learn about how robots are used in the community. Some of these activities will include: Lego programming, autonomous robot demonstrations, and drivable robots. The Texas Tech Robotics Fair allows the engineers of tomorrow to discover how the world of robots could bring them a career in the future and spark their imagination.

This FREE event is located in Science Spectrum’s Atrium. Standard museum rates apply for those choosing to attend the museum. We look forward to seeing you for an exciting day full of hands-on ROBOT FUN!

Visitors wanting to take in the full robotic experience can also see the giant screen film Dream Big: Engineering Our World showing this day only at the OMNI Theater. Tickets for the OMNI film Dream Big: Engineering Our World will be discounted on this day at a special rate of $5.00 per person.
